Privacy notice
Last updated: 11 October 2026
The short version. You send us a few details so we can make your free homepage preview and reply to you. We use them for that, and for running your site if you go ahead. We don’t sell them. We don’t use cookies and we don’t run tracking or advertising scripts. You can ask to see your details, correct them or have them deleted, and you can complain. Our contact email is [email protected].
Who we are
This website is run by JS IT-CONSULTANTS LIMITED, trading as We Make Your Web. It is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 07496561. Its registered office is 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX.
We decide why and how your details are used, which makes us the “controller” under UK data-protection law. To contact us about your details, email [email protected]. You can also use the contact form on our homepage. We don’t have a data protection officer.
What we collect, and where from
When you use the contact form on our homepage, you give us:
- your business name and town;
- what you do, and the services or offers you want shown;
- how you’d like the site to feel (a choice from a list);
- your name and email address; and
- your phone number (optional).
That is the only form on this site. If you email us, we also receive your email address and whatever you write. If you go ahead with a live website, we will also hold what we need to set up your domain, host your site and take payment. We will tell you who handles payment before you pay.
Like every website, our hosting provider sees your IP address and basic technical details (such as browser type and the page requested) when you visit. We don’t ask for, and you shouldn’t send us, sensitive information such as health details or payment card numbers.
Do you have to give us your details?
No law or contract makes you. But every box on the form except the phone number is required, because without them we can’t prepare your preview or reply to you.
Why we use your details, and our legal basis
| What we do | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Use your brief to prepare your free homepage preview and send you the private link | Taking steps at your request before a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) |
| Reply to your questions and follow up on your enquiry | Our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)), and Article 6(1)(b) where it relates to your preview request |
| If you go live: set up and run your site, take payment, keep accounting records | Performing our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligations such as tax records (Article 6(1)(c)) |
| Keep your details safe, and stop spam and abuse of the form | Our legitimate interest in keeping our service secure (Article 6(1)(f)) |
We don’t use your details for anything else. We don’t sell them, rent them out, or use them for advertising by third parties. We make no decisions about you by automated means.
If we contact you first
Sometimes we may contact a local business or club that hasn’t contacted us, to offer a free preview. We choose who to contact using public information, such as the business’s own website or Companies House. When we do, we will tell you in our first message where we got your details and link to this notice. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in telling relevant businesses about our service. We follow the UK rules on marketing messages: we email limited companies and similar bodies only in line with those rules, and we don’t send marketing emails, texts or social-media messages to sole traders or ordinary partnerships without their consent. Every message tells you who we are and how to stop hearing from us.
Your right to object. You can object at any time to us using your details for marketing, and we will stop. This right is absolute. Email [email protected], use the contact form, or reply “stop” to any message from us. You can also object to any other use that relies on our legitimate interests.
Who we share your details with
We use these service providers (“processors”), who handle your details only to provide their service to us:
- Web3Forms receives what you type into the contact form and emails it to us. It stores a copy of each submission and deletes it automatically after a set period (we have set this to 3 months). Its own systems run on Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Hetzner. To block spam, it sends the submitter’s IP address and email address to two spam-filtering services, CleanTalk and Akismet. See the Web3Forms privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and keeps it fast and secure. To do that it handles visitors’ IP addresses and basic request information. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Google (Gmail) holds the emails sent to and from [email protected]. Our other email systems hold the emails we receive from the contact form. See the Google privacy policy.
- If you go live: a payment provider and a domain registrar. We will tell you who they are before you pay.
We don’t share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Sending details outside the UK
Some of these providers handle data outside the UK. Here is what they say about the safeguards they use:
- Web3Forms is run from India, which doesn’t have a UK adequacy decision, and some of its providers are in the United States. Its data processing agreement says transfers of UK personal data use the standard contractual clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. You can read it at web3forms.com/dpa.
- Cloudflare is a US company. For UK-to-US transfers it states that it relies on its certification under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK-US data bridge”), with the standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum as a fall-back. See Cloudflare’s GDPR information.
- Google (Gmail) is a US company. Google LLC is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. It says it complies with it for UK personal information (see Google’s data transfer frameworks).
To get a copy of the safeguards that apply to your details, email [email protected].
Cookies, fonts and statistics
We don’t set cookies and we don’t store anything else on your device, so we don’t show a cookie banner. We don’t run advertising, social-media or tracking scripts, and we don’t run analytics code in your browser. The typefaces on this site are served from our own site, not from Google, so your browser doesn’t contact Google when you load a page. Cloudflare may give us basic traffic figures from its servers, such as how many requests the site received. These don’t come from anything running on your device. If we add anything that uses cookies or similar technology, we will ask first and update this page.
How long we keep your details
- If you ask for a preview but don’t go ahead: up to 6 months after our last contact with you, then we delete them. Web3Forms deletes its stored copy after 3 months.
- If you become a customer: while we run your site, and afterwards only what we must keep for tax and accounting. UK law requires a limited company to keep its accounting records for 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to.
- If you object to marketing: we keep your name or email on a short “do not contact” list so that we don’t contact you again.
- If you ask us to delete your details: we will, unless the law says we must keep something. If so, we will tell you.
Your other rights
- to ask for a copy of the details we hold about you;
- to have wrong or incomplete details corrected;
- to have your details deleted, in some cases;
- to ask us to restrict how we use them, in some cases;
- to receive the details you gave us in a portable format, where that applies;
- if we ever rely on your consent for something, to withdraw it at any time. It will be as easy to withdraw as to give, and withdrawing won’t affect what we did before.
We will reply within one month. It’s free. We may need to check it’s really you first.
How to contact us
Email [email protected] and say you’re making a privacy request. You can also use the contact form on our homepage. Please put your request in the “Services or offers to show” box and use the email address where you want our reply.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to us first by email at [email protected] or through the contact form. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you informed and tell you the outcome.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data-protection regulator, whether or not you have complained to us first: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your details we will update this page and the date at the top.
